Jungfrau Region
The Jungfrau region lies in the centre of a formidable 60 mile long wall of snow capped mountains. Wengen sits on a sunny, sheltered terrace below the Jungfrau, Mönch and Eiger mountains and has spectacular views across the Lauterbrunnen valley with its many waterfalls.
Everyone arrives in this charming village by mountain train as it is virtually traffic-free, the journey up from the valley floor an early indication of the magic to come.
We believe this is an ideal location to practise yoga and meditation.
Being amongst these mountains and valleys fills you with appreciation and gratitude for the natural world we live in. The peace and tranquility inspire you to quiet contemplation. The pathways and pistes demand you get out there and have some fun!
There are many delightful walks around and above the village, meandering through pine forests and flower-filled meadows. Many visitors take the opportunity to visit Mürren on the opposite side of the valley, a quiet hamlet amidst fabulous walking country with sparkling waterfalls and wildlife.
Excursion possibilities are endless, and make Wengen the perfect scenic and peaceful base from which to explore the famous Bernese Oberland. Mother Nature has provided magnificent mountains, green valleys and clear lakes, the Swiss have typically provided a super efficient, seamless transport system to show it in all its glory. The 6 day local pass covers the mountain railways and cable cars that grant us easy access to the area. View Local travel/ Ski- passes for prices and more information.
